It’s time to celebrate!
In the two and a half months since the two 40ft shipping containers began their journey from Adelaide carrying 48,000 pairs of shoes, they have arrived in Tanzania and are now through customs. The first container of shoes has been sorted and is about to be distributed into the community, and the second container will be sorted next week. It is such an exciting time overseeing the operation! Photos will be coming very soon which we will share with our facebook community (click here to join our facebook community today) and in our next newsletter.

Be the difference in a child’s life today – Give Shoes
What: Collecting gently worn and new shoes for the children, women and men of East Africa. We are looking for and accept all types of shoes for people of all ages and sizes (remembering that your gently worn shoes will be loved by the person who may have never owned one pair). You can check out our album on facebook to see some of the shoes which have been donated.
Why: 300 milion children globally do not own a pair of shoes.
Adults and children in developing countries are exposed to a myriad of difficult to control and treat infections which can be caused by cuts and scratches. In Australia, with access to clean water and good medications, these wouldn’t pose a major threat. However, in countries like Kenya and Tanzania, an infected cut on someone’s foot could be lethal.
Who: The Butterfly Movement in partnership with global charity Soles4Souls (www.soles4souls.com)
You: Each pair of shoes you donate saves a life. You can save the life of someone just like you; a sister, a brother, a daughter, a son, a mother, a father, a grandmother, a grandfather, with just one pair of your gently worn or new shoes.
How: Drop shoes to 131 Goodwood Road, Goodwood, South Australia (shop: Levant)
Tues & Wed: 10am til 5pm : Thurs: 9am til 6pm : Friday: 9am til 5pm : Sat: 9am til 4pm : Sun: 11am til 3pm : Mon: closed
